Can A Child Develop A Pet Allergy If The Pet Has Been There For Years?

It all started on our trip where my toddler and our dog were confined together in a small car. Now everytime she enters his room she breaks out in horrible hives and her face swells pretty bad. I had to take her in several times now for epi-shots and she’s on Benadryl plus Orapred.
The rash goes away after we leave the house and spend time somewhere else. It’s not our home though that makes her sick because she has the same problem in other buildings too.
I still nurse her and thought it’s my diet but I cut out possible culprit foods and nothing helped.
Her hives start around her eyes and arm pits. From there it spreads to her chest, trunk, back and neck.
After a while her upper lip gets really thick. So weird.
We’re waiting for the allergy blood tests to come back.
Oh and it’s not the detergent (I think so). We also don’t give her any fragranced stuff or colored candy.
Am I alone with this?

You can develop allergies at any time. And some people get allergy shots so they don’t have to give up the family pet. Good luck.

I had pet rodents for about 2 yrs when my sister suddenly developed allergies to them. Allergy testing proved it, so all my pets got moved to the garage. Bummer. Good luck.

You definitely will want to learn about acupressure-based allergy elimination! An NAET professional can help you get to the bottom of this problem and eliminate the underlying allergies. If you want a quick and easy way to identify your child’s allergies, go to http://www.allergyzapper.com and download the free report on muscle response testing to identify allergies. They offer a book that shows you, step-by-step, how to eliminate allergies with acupressure. In addition, I think you would benefit from reading the book “Say Good-bye to Illness” by Dr. Devi Nambudripad, available at Amazon.com If you want to Google the term “NAET testimonials” I believe you will find hope and comfort from the success stories there.
