My Brother Is Allergic To Pet Fur But I Want A Hamster?

My brother has pet fur allergies BUT
i really really want a hamster.
any suggestions to how i can keep a hamster but keep him safe and not reacting to it so much?

Well i have 2 chinchillas and a rabbit and im allergic to them so i just keep them in a separate room and don’t interact with them for really long periods of time (ya know just like 20 Min’s or so everyday). so if your brother isn’t seriously allergic then just keep the hamster away from him and maybe he could take allergy pills too because they really help.

Its not the fur he is allergic to its something in the animals saliva. Im allergic to all of my rats and this is what I do. I can handle them and then when I get done I wash my hands and change my clothes and allergies are rarely a problem. Now if I hold them and then rub my eyes they swell shut so just keep him away or at a safe distance and it should be fine.
Stop being selfish.
I have had 3 hamsters and, trust me, they are not that great. Theyr really more of a pain in the *** than anything.
give it 2 weeks. if you still want a hamster as bad as you do today, then just sneek one in and he might not even have a reaction.
Hamsters do not cause a lot of problems as far as allergies. As long as your brother doesn’t handle the hamster, he should be OK.
