I’m thinking of getting a puppy and was wondering if toy fox terriers are good for people with allergies. What about yorkie russells (yorkie/ Jack russell terrier mix)?
Does anyone have one of these that could give me some info about them. I live in an apartment so I’m looking for a small dog that doesn’t shed much and doesn’t require much grooming. Thanks.
Any terrior will be ok,with a minimum of alergic symptoms.Your best bet is to go to ask.com and simply ask for terrior breeds.You will get hundreds of sites.Jack Russels are extremely high strung,even if they are not full blooded.Not the dog for everyone.Look over the breeds,and decide how large you are willing to go.I would not go over 20 lbs.in an apt.Please,please,do not go through a puppy mill even if the deal sounds sweet.A reputable breeder is great,or best, is to visit your local animal shelter.There are some awesome dogs that would love a home.Remember to stick with a terrior.No shedding!
These breeds are listed as having low allergins, but many of them reqire alot of grooming.
* Chinese Crested (Powder Puff)
* Poodles (all sizes)
* Schnauzers (all sizes)
* Portuguese Water Dog
* Bichon Frise
* Soft-coated Wheaten Terrier
* Coton de Tulear
* Kerry Blue Terrier
* West Highland White Terrier
* Bedlington Terrier
* Chihuahua
Here are LOTS of pics of the toy fox terrier>> http://images.google.com/images?sourceid…
If you click on a pic, it will open to the webpage of the breeder, which will have all the info you need.
minature pincher. They are so damn cute the brown ones look like mini deers.
Though any dog hair would give allery, the presence of a dog or a cat also helps decrease risks of a heart disease or blood pressure. If you keep yourself clean by washing your hands everytime after you touch the dog and avoiding him in the kitchen and the bed, a dog like a toy fox terrier wont bother you much with your allergies.
My husband has cat/dog allergies and we have a bichon, she is great! He can hold her as much as he wants and it has never caused even a touch of a flare up. Our bichon is small (only about 13 lbs) but she does require grooming. I’ve solved this by taking her to the groomer every couple of months and bathing at home in between. Bichon Friese is a really good breed for someone with allergies. Good luck and happy searching.
pet allergies ? don’t get a pet if you have allergies it’s gonna be worst, get a bird or so
The poodle breeds (Poodles, Maltese, Bichon Frise) are all supposed to be hypo-allergenic dogs. Regardless of breed, there is a product called “Allerpet-D” (Allerpet-C for cats) that you apply to the animal once a week and it cuts dander to the barest minimum.
