I have really bad allergies…I mean horrible…and it all depends on your type…if you do get a dog or a cat your body should naturally adjust to the animal’s type of dander…but try something with short hair…
Male Calicao’s are usually very calm and sedate cats but their kinda rare…
try getting an older dog or cat, they tend to be more laid-back and content to cuddle and sit around

You should get a parakeet ! Parakeets are cute companians and could speak. I don’t think a lot of people are allergic to them anyway.

You can get a lizard, turtle, or even a Poodle (dog) they don’t have the same dandruff as other dogs

    Australian Labradoodlehttp://www.dogbreedinfo.com/images/Labra…
    Standard: Height – 22-24 inches
    Standard: Weight – Female – 45-60 pounds. Male – 55-77 pounds.
    Miniature: Height – 17-22 inches
Miniature: Weight – 30-50 pounds. Males being the larger.
Health problems:HD, PRA, VonWilabrands, Elbow and patella disorders.
Living conditions:The Australian Labradoodle will do okay in an apartment if it gets enough exercise. They are moderately active indoors and will do best with at least an average-sized yard.
Exercise:This breed needs a lot of exercise, which include long daily walks.
    Life expectancy:About 13-15 years.
Grooming:Curly Coats need regular grooming with a slicker brush at least each two weeks and maybe two to three times a year, a trim, scissoring or clipping to keep tidy. Most Australian Labradoodles shed little to no hair and are possibly non-allergenic.
    Kerry Blue Terrierhttp://www.dogbreedinfo.com/images9/Kerr…
Height: Dogs 18½-20 inches. Female 17½-19 inches.
    Weight: 33-40 pounds
Health problems:This is usually a very healthy long-lived breed. Although some are prone to Hip Dysplasia, PNA, cerebellar abiotrophy. Also some minor concerns are cataracts, spiculosis, hair follicle tumors, entropion, KCS, narrow palpebral fissure distichiasisme, and CHD. Retinal folds occasionally seen.
Living conditions:Kerry Blues are good for apartment life. They are fairly active indoors and a small yard will do.
Exercise:The Kerry Blue is a sporty dog, which needs to be taken out on a daily walk, jog or run.
    Life expectancy:About 12-15 years.
Grooming:Kerries should be groomed every 6 weeks. They also need to have the hair pulled out of the ear canal, as they are prone to ear infections when the ear hair gets too long and wax and dirt have built up. Pet Kerries can be trimmed like a Soft coated Wheaten. Grooming techniques require some training. Your groomer can show you how it do it right. In addition to this, they will need grooming once a week with brush and comb. Dogs for showing will require more extensive grooming. The distinctive blue coat is not only beautiful, but practical as well. The Kerry Blue sheds little to no hair and is odorless, even when wet. Frequent bathing will not dry out the skin as it does in so many other breeds. Bathing and combing every week is a must! It keeps them clean. Without proper care their beard will get smelly and packed with food and dirt. Kerry Blues are considered good for allergy sufferers.
    Portuguese Water Doghttp://www.dogbreedinfo.com/images/portu…
Height: Dogs 20-22 inches. Females 17-20 inches
Weight: Dogs 42-55 pounds. Females 35-49 pounds
Health problems:Some lines are prone to hip dysplasia and PRA. Breeding stock should be tested for GM-1 Storage Disease, a fatal nerve disease that appears when a puppy is six months old.
Living conditions:The Portuguese Water Dog will be okay in an apartment if it is sufficiently exercised. It is moderately active indoors and a small yard will be sufficient. It can live outdoors in temperate climates, but would be much happier living close to its family and spending days in the yard.
Exercise:The Portuguese Water Dog is an active dog with great stamina. It needs daily physical and mental exercise, which includes a daily, long, brisk walk or jog. This breed loves to swim and there is nothing they would love more than if you threw a stick or ball in water for it to retrieve. It will also enjoy a vigorous romp. They make excellent jogging companions.
    Life expectancy:About 10-14 years.
Grooming:The Portuguese Water dog should be brushed and combed regularly. The wavy-coated variety is usually closely clipped at the hindquarters and on the nose but the curly-coated dogs generally have a working retriever clip, especially in the United States, so that only the tail is close-clipped. This breed is good for allergic persons as the coat sheds little to no hair and is virtually hypo-allergenic. The coat grows more slowly than that of a poodle and does not require a frequent scissoring or clipping.
    Soft Coated Wheaten Terrierhttp://www.dogbreedinfo.com/images12/Sof…
Height: Dogs 18-20 inches. Females 17-19 inches
Weight: Dogs 35-45 pounds. Females 30-40 pounds
Health problems:Prone to flea allergies and protein wasting disease (PLE and PLN).
Living conditions:The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier is good for apartment life. They are moderately active indoors and a small yard will do. This breed does not tolerate heat very well.
Exercise:The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier can get by with moderate exercise as long as it is taken for daily walks.
    Life expectancy:About 10-15 years.
Grooming:When grooming the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, the object is to achieve a natural look and brushing can make the soft coat fuzzy. So using a brush is not recommended. Instead, frequent, even daily combing of the long, profuse coat with a medium-toothed comb is recommended to keep it free of tangles – beginning when the dog is a puppy. Clean the eyes and check the ears carefully. Bathe or dry shampoo when necessary. The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier does not shed in the spring and fall, but loose hair should be combed out of the coat from time to time. A well-groomed dog will shed very little. This breed is good for allergy suffers.
    American Hairless Terrierhttp://www.dogbreedinfo.com/images17/Ame…
    Height: 7-16 inches
    Weight: 5-16 pounds
Health problems:These dogs do not have absent premolars or any of the breeding complications associated with the hairless breeds. The AHT does not have the major skin problems commonly seen in hairless dogs. Sometimes they will get a rash on their skin. Because of their lack of hair, they do need protection from the sun. Sunscreen should be applied or a shirt should be worn, not only for the protection from the sun but from the cold as well. AHT’s do have sweat glands and will get pimples! They go away on their own. Rashes due to grass allergies are not that uncommon. Other allergies do occur as well.
Living conditions:The AHT will do ok in an apartment so long as they get at least 20-30 minutes of exercise a day. They are fairly active indoors and should have at least a small to medium sized yard. AHT’s love to dig. Since they have sweat glands they do not drool at the mouth or pant in order to balance their body heat. They should wear a sweater in cold weather.
Exercise:The breed enjoys challenging games and outdoor romps. They need to be taken on a long daily walk.
    Life expectancy:About 14-16 years.
Grooming:The only special care required is preventing sunburn and keeping them warm in cold weather. They should be bathed one to three times a week, owners preference. Their nails should be trimmed weekly. If their skin becomes dry, lotion (without lanolin) can be applied. This breed obviously does not shed and they do not get fleas, but they do shed skin cells about every 20 days, therefore there is some dander but it is very minimal. AHT’s forget they do not have any hair and romp around outside. Scratches and cuts do happen and they need to be attended to by hydrogen peroxide or any other antiseptic agent.
This breed is very good for allergy sufferers. Many AHT breeders have experiences , doing hands on and remote allergy tests with people who have allergic responses to dogs and more often than not, individuals who can not tolerate even those breeds who are known to be ‘hypoallergenic’… can tolerate an AHT. Studies have found them to be the best breed of dog for people with dog allergies. Many breeders can recount stories of grown men crying at the prospect of owning a dog for the first time in their lives. For those individuals and families who have never owned a dog before either due to their own allergies or a family members , holding a dog for the first time without a reaction is a rather powerful feeling for them.. !
    Bichon Frisehttp://www.dogbreedinfo.com/images15/Bic…
Height: Dogs 9-12 inches. Females 9-11 inches
    Weight: 7-12 pounds
Health problems:Some are prone to watery eyes, cataracts, skin and ear ailments, also epilepsy and dislocated kneecaps. They can be very sensitive to flea bites.
Living conditions:The Bichon Frise can live in an apartment if it gets enough exercise. They are fairly active indoors and will do okay without a yard.
Exercise:These are active little dogs, who need a daily walk. Play will take care of a lot of their exercise needs, however, as with all breeds, play will not fulfill their primal instinct to walk. Dogs who do not get to go on daily walks are more likely to display behavior problems. They will also enjoy a good romp in a safe open area off lead, such as a large fenced in yard.
Life expectancy:About 15 or more years.
    Litter size:1 – 6 puppies – Average 4 – 5
Grooming:This breed should be groomed frequently and bathed every month. Professional grooming is recommended every 4 weeks. Trim around the eyes and ears with a blunt pair of scissors and clean the eyes extensively to prevent staining. Show dogs are trimmed with scissors. The body of the pet dogs may be clipped with electric clippers though the rest of the dog must still be scissored. The Bichon sheds little to no hair and is good for allergy suffers.

Height: Dogs 13-16 inches. Females 11-14 inches
Weight: Dogs 13-16 pounds. Females 11-14 pounds
Health problems:The Border Terrier is relatively insensitive to pain and shows few signs of illness, so the owner should watch this breed’s health carefully.
