Can you take something to control it or is it just not going to work out??
We got a rescue pup last week and she’s lovely. I really don’t want to have to part with her, so is their a fix for my problem?
Any suggestions welcome!!
Thanks!

    i am not allergic to my dogs but i am allergic to my rabbit! there are lots of things you can do. first, go to your doctor and have them perscribe you an allergy medicine. dont let your dog into you r bedroom and a dehumifier and a vaccume with an allergin reducing filter can help. if your allergies are really bad you can get allergy shots but you have to get a TON of them and they are expensive if not covered by your insurance. when you go to your doctor, ask about other things you can do. I know there are more, like covers for your bed and pillows but i can;t think of all the methods of the top of my head. good luck and i hope it works out!

    allergy med. may work for you and it may not, i,m allergic to cats and i found a litter of kittens and i didn,t want them to freeze to death so i brought them in, i noticed my mouth went dry and my nose felt funny i thought i,d be OK because i,m on prescription med. for allergy’s but i woke up chocking and throwing up solid mucus, i,m talking huge amounts, i know it was the kittens because i was fine once i found someone to take them,if you really want the dog you should talk to a allergy specialist and see if meds are enough to do it for you.

    See your doctor. You can have desensitisation to help the problem, but it may not work. I am mildly allergic to cats and dogs, and at the moment I have two cats and am getting a dog in a year or so. It depends how badly allergic you are. I can live relatively normally with my cats. Steps to make living with your pup easier:
    1) Do not let your dog sleep in your room
    2) Wash all bedding (yours and your dog’s) regularly
    3) Brush your dog regularly to minimise dog fur around the house – if you are so allergic that you can’t brush your dog, have someone else do it for you
    Good luck. Hopefully it will work out for you!

    There are some steps which you can take to minimise the allergies to a dog:
    * Keep them out of the bedroom.
    * Keep them off the furniture.
    * Clean and vacuum often
    * Groom and brush them (outside if possible) often so its hair-shedding around the house is minimized
    * Bathe them regularly.
