My nose became swelled and inflamed inside several weeks ago. I got tablets and the medication worked but it swelled up again when I finished taking it.
The doctor did a swab to find out the problem but it came back clear. he concured i have an allergy.
My question is why did the nose infection tablets work util the course had finished?
The answer to your question is YES.
To make matters worse, allergies with nose swelling make you more prone to nose infection. And, to make it even worse, having antibiotics, will make you even more prone to opportunistic infections!
You did not say what tablets you used, I assume a decongestant, which shrinks swollen nasal passages.
Nasal allergies, because of tissue damage from the allergy, and the natural presence of bacteria can lead to infections.
Depends what they gave you; if the tablets had some kind of anti-inflammatory in them then maybe that’s why they helped. I get a lot of allergies; have you tried Benedryl? They’re really good – the best ones are the ones that work within 15 minutes and you can take up to three in a day. Good luck, I know how rotten it can make you feel. Hope you feel better soon.
Neoclarytin which you used as an anti-inflammatory is actually an antihistamine so will reduce the effects of the allergy.
