i normally don’t get seasonal allergies, but it’s hard to say considering the pollin count is so high this season. but suddenly i have a runny nose, sore throat, body aches, and weird breathing. i’m also really sleepy. i don’t know if this is allergies or swine flu. im really worried because this past weekend i was in queens, and that’s where a break out of swine flu was. i need answers quick!!!!!!!!

Hey! It sounds like seasonal allergies to me (I am a seasonal allergy person). If you don’t normally get seasonal allergies, what I suggest is to call your health care provider. Give them a list of symptoms along with when they started. Also be prepared to answer where you have been in the last few weeks. Chances are it is just a bug and not swine flu, but you never know. Call the doctor and they will tell you what to do.
Take care and I hope you feel better soon!

even if you have the exact symptoms of the swine flu, you are still very unlikely to have it. your doctor can’t even tell if you do have it. the only way to tell is if you go to the hospital and they send in your blood work to the state department responsible for analyzing the virus. you can go to the center for disease control website’s link (http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu/)on swine flu symptoms to see if you believe you fit the description.
right now, you need to be cautious not to spread whatever you have, be it swine flu or more likely the case, just a standard flu. also use some common sense. do you live near other affected people? have you been to areas that are at high risk. a lot of people are scared right now, but a lot of it is premature.

Allergies don’t cause fever, diarrhea or vomiting, which are key symptoms to swine flu.
