How Long Does It Take To Develop An Allergy To Nickel?

I have a ring I’ve been wearing for just on a month, and have now got an itchy lump that is growing under where the band was. I’ve had allergies to nickel before, but they’ve come up overnight. Is it possible to get a delayed reaction, or could it be unrelated?

Yes , it may have been coated with something that prevented the nickel from affecting you. You can coat it with clear nail polish .Your ring, not your finger or get those finger cots and cut them down really small .
My kid could not wear a belt over her jeans if it had nickel in the buckle,.
Some people are very allergic. Hope this helps.

Clean the ring! Put some neosporin on your finger. Put on bandaid. Reapply neosporin daily with fresh bandade!
Don’t wear ring for a week.
See if finger heals. Then put on cleaned ring.
See if sore reappears. If it does sell the ring or maybe you can wear it around your neck as a necklace. Never the rearview mirror. Nothing should hange from a rearview car mirror!
I always had trouble with cheap metals for my pierced ears. Had to be high quality Karat gold or silver.

Your ring could have been plated in a metal other than nickle, and could just now be wearing through. Try coating it in clear nail polish, that will help.
