How Long To Take Allergy Medicine To Know If Its Working?

I’ve had really bad allergies for a few days now and have tried zyrtec, claritin and benadryl, but only one time each. Didnt make a bit of difference. Will it help if I try one for a few days or should it work before its time to take the next dose? Thanks.

It can take a while for allergies to get better when they’re really bad. You should try just one of those medications, probably the Zyrtec or Claritin, for at least a week straight. Take it at night so you won’t feel drowsy (they can both make some people feel tired even though they say “non-drowsy”).
Some people need to take these meds for two weeks before they see results.
You can also see your doctor about starting a nasal steroid spray if your symptoms are nasal related.
