I breast feed my baby. My baby seems to have milk allergy. Question: Do I also need to stop taking yoghurt ? Is it possible for my baby to be affected by my consumption of yoghurt ?
An allergy is an allergic reaction to the proteins in the milk whereas intolerance is the inability to break down the sugar which will lead to upset tummy and runny poops and painful gas. First you need to find out which one it is. If it is an allergy then you need him to stay away from all dairy completely. If it is an intolerance then different dairy has different amounts of lactose in it. Milk is very high and hard cheeses have none yogurt has less than milk So you will have to find his guide as to how much of what he can have in a day to not upset his tummy.
yes exactly, being lactose intolerant is different from millk allergies. Yougurt is cultured differently and can be cosumed by people who are lactose intolerant and by those who have a specific milk allergy. With that said, yougurt is not suggested until at least eight months of age. Milk is not suggested until at least one year of age.
well ask a doctor am not really sure:-)
