There are lots and lots of things that you can eat!...in fact peanut is probably a 'good' allergy to have in that it has to be LABELLED as an ingredient by law-so its relatively easy to see straight away if you can or cant have something. My 7yo has had anaphylaxis to barley and sunflower-these dont have to be listed as such (can be listed as malt or vegetable oil or other combinations-you then need to phone manufacturers -you go for a meal somewhere and people dont know what oil they are cooking with as it only says 'veg oil' on the bottle etc). People are very aware of peanut allergy compared to many others. Its a pain but with organization and planning ahead its all very manageable. Is there a reason not to have tree nuts (if youre only allergic to peanuts?-cross contamination??)
