Should I Avoid A Food With A Level 2 Blood Allergy Test?

I am 26 years old and I was recently diagnosed with a level (class) 2 wheat and egg allergy. I can’t get into the allergist for another 2 months. I was told by my doctor’s nurse not to eat wheat or eggs anymore. Is it really necessary to not eat these foods until I see the allergist?

Yes is the answer – you should avoid them for a couple of reasons.
Firstly – avoiding them allows your body a chance to recover from previous reactions and when you see the allergist they will get a history from you of how your health has changed in this time without reactions. So keep a mental record – or note things down if you need to. Consider things like upset stomach, cramps, sleep, headaches etc
Secondly – constantly challenging your immune system with known allergens may lead to an increased reaction next time – is that really what you want to do? No I did not think so.
You may be perfectly fine, but something must have caused you to check this out in the first place – you must have been worried. So give your body a chance and challenge yourself to see how well you can keep them out of your diet – not easy but I am sure you will be successful.
You are lucky to know what your triggers are and this puts you well on the way to a healthier happier life – good luck.
