What Is The Correct Name For Somebody Who Wants To Study Seasonal Allergies?

I want to get a degree in studying seasonal allergies and not being an actual allergist but doing the research on it, but I don’t know if I should call it a medical science researcher or a lab scientist or what name I should call it when I call a school to ask about the program………………..any ideas?
