I took Motrin and that didn’t help my sore throat at all. I am certain it is allergies. What can I take/ do to feel better?
Gargle with salt water. Don’t know why it works..but it does. It is also something you can do as needed. Nothing harmful about it. Just put some warm water in a glass and add about a half tsp. of salt, stir until dissolved. Then gargle.
Yes, warm salt water gargling is really good. You have a sore throat because of post nasal drip. Purchase an over the counter allergy medication..something like Tylenol Allergy. It will help dry up the post nasal drip and your sore throat will go away.
Yes, salt water is good for a little while.
My best home remedy for sore throats is coffee with that fake powder creamer. Something in that stuff coats my throat better than anything. hours of relief.
I was never a coffee drinker until I discovered this; now I’m hooked of course!
Also Chloraseptic is very good; oh it burns at first! But the relief is worth it.
Also a water vaporizer will make a mist that is soothing. I like the warm mist better than a cool mist. (Your throat feels better in the shower, right?)
I used to run long distances in So Cal dry air and got a lot of sore throats; these measures helped. (No, of course I never considered stopping running!)
Gargle salt water. Always a quick remedy for any type of sore throat.
advil, and some OJ works best. See advil as opposed to tylenol is also an anti inflamitory, the throat usually becomes inflamed from alergies. Anything aspirin based, or ibprofun based
