What Should I Take For Severe Allergies When I Am Ttc?

I am trying very hard to have another baby, but right now I am on day 12 and am being hit with severe allergies. I usually O around day 16-17. I need to take something, but I am afraid most medications will dry up my cervical mucous as well as the congestion. I usually take Claritin D. Any suggestions on whether this can hurt my chances of conceiving this month? Thanks.

Any antihistamines, including claritin, will dry up your mucus. You can take it and drink loads of water, drink green tea, take Guaifenesin, and/or use preseed. Or, you can take only the guaifenesin and tough out the allergies–this is hard I know! Also, try using a plain saline nasal spray to relieve some of the allergy symptoms.

Tylenol products accross the board are the best when TTC but check with your Dr. to be sure.

My doctor recommended Claritin while I was pregnant, so that would be my suggestion.
