How Long Does It Take To Know If You Will Develop A Live Cricket Allergy?

I am considering getting one and I am allergic to many things but not lizards anyway I am also wondering how you have to touch them to get an allergy. Also is there a way to get around touching them completely so you will not be susceptible to an allergy?
